matcha

ikuyo - ippodo

aroma: kinda nutty and deep, milky
taste: buttery/creamy, sweet, mild, slight bitterness, a little toasty or earthy

isuzu - marukyu koyamaen

aroma: vegetal, mellow, fresh, nutty
taste: fresh, yuzu, sweet, slight umami, slightly floral, creamy
in latte: toasted rice / nutty / sesame, no astringency, slight bitternesss

kyogoku no mukashi - ippodo

aroma: umami, marine, seaweed
taste: umami, deep, toasty, nutty, oceanic/seaweedy, no bitterness, natural sweetness

heian kyo - fukujuen

aroma: sweet, creamy, a little fruity/fresh, nutty

classic matcha latte

ingredients
matcha: 3-4g matcha, 15ml room temp water, 30ml 75℃ water
milk: 120 ml oat milk

method
matcha: sift the matcha into a bowl, add room temp water to the matcha and create a paste, then add hot water and whisk until you achieve a microfoam.
assemble! fill a glass with ice if desired. pour in the milk, then slowly add the matcha on top. done!

strawberry matcha

ingredients
matcha: 3-4g matcha, 15ml room temp water, 30ml 75℃ water
milk: 120 ml oat milk, strawberry syrup

method
matcha: sift the matcha into a bowl, add room temp water to the matcha and create a paste, then add hot water and whisk until you achieve a microfoam.
assemble! fill a glass with ice if desired. pour in the strawberry syrup, then milk, then slowly add the matcha on top. done!

milk tea matcha with black tea cold foam

ingredients
matcha: 3-4g matcha, 15ml room temp water, 30ml 75℃ water
milk tea: 120ml oatmilk, 2 tsp black tea, 2 tsp sugar
cold foam: 3 tbs cream, 2 tbs milk, 1 tbs black tea syrup

method
milk tea: brew the black tea in oat milk on medium heat, then add sugar.
matcha: sift the matcha into a bowl, add room temp water to the matcha and create a paste, then add hot water and whisk until you achieve a microfoam.
cold foam: combine all cold foam ingredients in a bowl and whisk until thick and creamy.
assemble! fill a glass with ice if desired. pour in the milk tea, then slowly add the matcha on top. finish with the cold foam. done!

banana milk matcha

ingredients
matcha: 3-4g matcha, 15ml room temp water, 30ml 75℃ water
banana milk: 120ml oat milk, 1/4 banana, 1 tsp vanilla sugar

method
banana milk: add the oatmilk, banana, and vanilla to a blender and blend until smooth and creamy.
matcha: sift the matcha into a bowl, add room temp water to the matcha and create a paste, then add hot water and whisk until you achieve a microfoam.
assemble! fill a glass with ice if desired. pour in the banana milk, then slowly add the matcha on top. done!

condensed milk matcha

ingredients
matcha: 3-4g matcha, 15ml room temp water, 30ml 75℃ water
milk: 120 ml oat milk, 1-2 tsp condensed milk

method
milk: add the condensed milk to a glass. pour in a small splash of oat milk and stir until the condensed milk dissolves. add the remaining oat milk.
matcha: sift the matcha into a bowl, add room temp water to the matcha and create a paste, then add hot water and whisk until you achieve a microfoam.
assemble! fill a glass with ice if desired. pour in the milk mixture, then slowly add the matcha on top. done!

jasmine milk tea matcha

ingredients
matcha: 3-4g matcha, 15ml room temp water, 30ml 75℃ water
milk tea: 100ml oatmilk, 2 tsp jasmine tea, 30ml 75℃ water, 2 tsp sugar

method
milk tea: steep the jasmine tea in 75℃ water for a few minutes. stir in the sugar, then pour in the oat milk.
matcha: sift the matcha into a bowl, add room temp water to the matcha and create a paste, then add hot water and whisk until you achieve a microfoam.
assemble! fill a glass with ice if desired. pour in the jasmine milk tea, then slowly add the matcha on top. done!
